Horologists will recognise this clock as a close copy of the famous flint glass wheel clocks made by Edwards of Stourbridge. The clock is mounted on a wooden box containing the barrel. The designer obviously thought that the barrel was not aesthetically pleasing and hid it in the box so as not to spoil the appearance of the flint glass centred wheels. The complete clock with its box base stands 22 inches high and it is a most impressive piece of machinery. The crystal wheel centres are engraved with a sunburst pattern which together with the elegant scroll frames make this a most attractive clock. Full details of the construction are contained in this book including the wheelcutting and engraving of the wheel centres, and the whole work is carried out on the Myford ML 7 lathe. Two appendices at the end of the book describe the construction of the John Wilding depthing tool and wheel crossing template.                                                                                                                                                                                                                           J Wilding
